Q:

On the side of the head there are two screws that screw my mixer won't work I screw them out and so springs jumped out now my mixer doesn't work at all.

A:

 Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife.  I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The issue here is the spring are the brush springs and are there to keep the motor brushes tension correctly to the armature.  If the springs are missing they will need to be replaced.  Here is a link for the spring and the parts breakdown.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Hello, I have what I believe is a K45. An older mixer handed down from my mothers kitchen. I just had it disassembled and powdercoated. The powdercoater is not going to reassemble it for me. I will be putting her back together soon and wanted to know. 1. Are there specific parts that are not recommended reusable? 2. Are there kits available for standard rebuild? And any advice regarding the process of putting this machine back in service. It was fully functional when recently disassembled for powdercoating.

Thank you for your question on the old Kitchen Aid mixer.

I have sent you the mixer service manual too see if you can find the problem and repair it.

You may first want to use some compressed air to blow out all the flour dust inside the unit from all these years and that may help with the smoke if it is working okay.

Please let me know what you find out and we can continue to troubleshoot with that information.
