Q:

GE JVM1870SF02 MICROWAVE NO HEAT

A:

Trying to pinpoint what exactly is the main problem of any appliance is pretty tricky since not everyone is a technician. A suggestion I have is scheduling for a technician to go to your home and repairing the item because microwaves are dangerous to repair. I have attached a link below for you to schedule repair from a technician. Hope this helps!

The magnetron could be bad or you could have a number of other internal component failures that would prevent the microwave from heating. It is impossible to predict whether the magnetron is bad without physically examining and testing the microwave. This diagnosis can only be made by a service technician. I recommend that you call GE regarding service for the microwave. If the service call to diagnose the microwave is reasonable, then you can have a service technician examine the unit and give an estimate for the repair. If the magnetron is bad, then you will only have to pay for the labor. If the technician finds other problems that are not covered, then you can decide whether to repair the microwave or replace it. Some service companies will charge a flat fee for labor and then uncovered parts would be extra. Be sure that you understand the service charges before scheduling service.
