Q:

Need instructions for uninstalling a GE Spacesaver JVM1631WB002 over the range microwave.

A:

Removing built in appliances correctly can be as important as the installation. To help with this project I attached two links that may help while you wait for the expert. The first link has the installation instructions, you can try to reverse them. The second link is a general how to that might get you started. Hope these help with the project.

Q:

Do I need a technician to replace a magnetron (WB27X1077) in my GE Spacemaker microwave model JVM1631WB002?

A:

If the magnetron is bad, it will need to be replaced by a service technician. If you are having it replaced under warranty by GE, you will need to call 1-800-432-2737 to arrange this service.

Even if it is not under warranty, this is a repair that should always be completed by a service technician. Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. High voltage components inside the microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed on the unit following any internal component repair. These are the reasons why we always recommend that you have a service technician repair your microwave.

(I did not find a previous question about this microwave in our system.)
