Q:

Top Cabinet Mounting template GE SpaceMaker Microwave JVM1430BD002

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

There is only one reference to a template within the parts list, and that is part number 49-40166. It appears that the template has since been discontinued by GE and is no longer offered, and has no direct substitute.

Our best recommendation would be to contact GE to see if there is another template that may be used, or a specific upper cabinet template available.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank You for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Unfortunately, I do not have adequate resources to take your microwave dimensions and match those up on Sears.com for an acceptable replacement microwave. I would recommend visiting Sears.com and chat with an associate on the website or call us directly at 1-800-697-3277 with the specs of the microwave so a retail associate can help assist in finding the right sized microwave.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com

Q:

What should I do next to fix my GE spacemaker microwave - model JVM1430BD002?

A:

I use my microwave almost daily so I know the importance of this appliance. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge of up to 2200 VAC -- even when the microwave is unplugged. Repairs and adjustments, even minor ones such as replacing the control board can cause microwave leakage. A microwave shielding leakage test should be performed after any microwave service. It is for these safety reasons that we are unable to guide you in microwave repairs and instead recommend scheduling service with a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME. We thank you for your understanding in this matter and hope we can help you with other questions and repairs in the future.
