why does my oven only have a heating element on the top? jtp70sp1ss

I'm looking at your model number jtp70sp1ss and the oven contains 3 heating elements. There is one element at the rear wall of the oven that is used for the convection heating. It also has the typical upper broil element and the bottom bake element. The problem you are describing could be an issue with heat probe/sensor assembly item 253 on the diagram. It is also possible that the oven controller. I recommend having a service technician diagnose the issue you are having. I trust this information will help you.

I'm looking at your model number jtp70sp1ss and the gradual build up you is the moisture released from the food that are being baked or broiled. Between moist and greasy items being cook, there will be a slow build up at the bottom and I recommend wiping down the oven once it has cooled after each use.
