Question and Answers

How do you install Part# WB14T10075 for my GE Wall oven? JTP30SP1SS Ge Electric oven

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To access the door lock assembly, first turn the power supply off to the wall oven.

Open the oven door and remove the screws along the bottom of the control panel. Remove the control panel but leave the wires attached. The door lock assembly will be located in the front center area. Make a note of where each wire connects to the old lock motor assembly before disconnecting the wires. Remove the one or two hex head screws securing the lock assembly. Reverse the procedure and then reapply the power supply. I hope this is helpful.

locked door message stuck on oven

Thank you for choosing and allowing us this opportunity to be your service provider. It can be very frustrating dealing with a compromised appliance during the holidays. I will do my best to help out. The "DOOR" message in the display is likely indicating that the door is either locked when it's in the bake mode or it indicates that the door is not locked when it's in the clean mode. NOTE: Do not lock the door when baking; only lock the door when putting the oven into a self cleaning mode.

Check the door lock lever, move it from left to far right and back to the far left and retry the bake mode. If it still comes up displaying "DOOR" it would most likely be a problem with the door lock switch or the door lock assembly. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range. I have provided information in an image below on this models lock mechanism.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others. Wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal

If you decide that you do not feel comfortable repairing this problem yourself, you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Click here to schedule service online at the Sears Home Services web site. Be sure to take advantage of that 20% discount coupon that Sears provides when service is set on line. You will need to print this coupon out on your computer's printer and give it to your technician upon arrival on the day of service.

If you have any follow-up questions, please continue our conversation on this existing thread.
