Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Electric Range Flashing F7 DA?

A:

The kitchen appliances today have lots of great features and make cooking easier and more enjoyable. They are also more complicated. I found a similar question from a previous expert post for the error code being displayed. I see that it also looks complicated, so if you decide you would feel more comfortable having an expert technician diagnose and make repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the handy scheduler. I attached both links below. Hope this helps! http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/120084-does-f7-d6-fault-code-indicate-ge-range http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action?pop=flush

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know what F7 means on your G.E. range.

  • The F7 code means you have a stuck key on the touch pad interface.

  • Is the DA part of the error code because if it is I do not know what that means.

  • Sometimes you can rub back and forth across the touch pad an get it to release. You also can remove the ribbon harness from the control board and put it back in, and it will sometimes work.

  • Disconnect the power to the range and reconnect after one minute. If the error code reappears you will need to have the touch pad/and or the control board replaced.

I would suggest that you have a technician check to see which one it may be. These parts are pretty expensive and it would be good not to have to replace both.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
