Instructions
1
Turn the circuit breaker to the electric cooktop off.

2
Pull the control knobs off of the control stems. Using a screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the ceramic glass top to the frame. Lift the main top off of the burner box. Lay a towel over the top of the cooktop and position it against the wall. The towel will protect the finish of your ceramic glass top.

3
Use a pair of needle nose pliers to disconnect the wires from the terminals of the faulty heating element. Remove the wires from the limiter that is attached to the element.

4
Remove the screw that secures the element holding straps nearest the faulty element. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw securing the limiter to the faulty heating element.

5
Lift the heating element strap and slide the faulty element out of the cooktop. Slide the new heating element into position.

6
Secure the limiter to the heating element using the retaining screws. Reattach the heating element strap using the retaining screw.

7
Connect the heating element wires to the heating element terminals and reconnect the limiter wires to the limiter.

8
Gently set the cooktop back into place over the burner box. Secure the cooktop to the burner box using the retaining screws.

9
Slide the control knobs back onto the control shafts. Turn the circuit breaker to the cooktop back on.
