Question and Answers

Q:

The left corner of a glass top range, model JP350BOC1BB, cracked. Can this be repaired or can I replace the top? JP350BOC1BB

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the cracked or gouged glass near the left side burner, I know how frustrating that is. Unfortunately, there is no way to repair the cooktop glass once it's cracked, chipped, or gouged. The only option would be to replace the cooktop itself, it's just not safe to use.

If liquid gets into the crack, it could short the element and possibly cause a shock hazard. Besides the possibility of shock, the element could fail and cost more to repair. I recommend turning the power off to the unit until fixed, or limit usage as much as possible.

GE likes to throw curve balls on their models in some cases, this being one of them. The '0' in the center of the model can be dropped, so the model should be JP350BC1BB. If you tried pulling it up on SearsPartsDirect.com and didn't get any results, that would be the reasoning. It's a common occurance with GE models.

For convenience, I have pulled up the OEM replaceable glass cooktop for this model and have provided a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page to purchase the cooktop if needed.
