Question and Answers

Q:

how to remove trim kit on microwave

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service.

I did not find a manual or installation guide for that trim kit. I did find a parts list that may help you remove that trim kit. That parts diagram is shown in the image below. You may be able to move the microwave back into the cabinet and then remove the side trim pieces. You may need to remove screws from the top or bottom trim pieces before removing the side trim.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with some digital pictures of the trim and we will try to assist you further.
