Question and Answers

Q:

GE RANGE OVEN CONTROL NOT WORKING CODE F7 56

A:

For error codes you can always refer back to your owners manual. If you do not have one then no problem you can just go to the top of the page here on Manage My Life and click on the tab that says "MANUALS" when the search box comes in you can type the model number of your appliance and your owners manual should appear. I have attached a link below if you are interested in viewing while waiting on a response from an expert. Hope this helps!

There is no "F7 56" fault code. The "F7" is a valid fault code but not 56. The "F7" fault code implies a shorted matrix or Start key. It could have a failed user interface or electronic oven control board. This type of failure will require a service technician to diagnose and repair your range. I added an image below of the list of fault codes.

I recommend calling Sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 to set up a service appointment to have your range diagnosed and repaired.
