Q:

door spring replacement JGBS22BEA2WH Ge Gas range

A:

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I understand needing instructions for completing this repair. This is a simple repair, just remove the warming/storage drawer. The spring are located at the front of the oven on the right and left sides. You will need a needle nose pliers to reattached the spring. The spring is connected to the base of the over and to the door hinge. When removing the old spring remember which hole the spring was attached to.

If you need further assistance please let me know.

Even though that igniter is glowing bright yellow, it is likely that the igniter is the failed component according to your description. The theory of operation for that type of ignition system is shown in the image below. If you have a clamp-on ammeter, you can check the amp draw through wire between the igniter and the safety gas valve. You will not likely measure the 2.5 amps of current that is needed to open that safety gas valve. Replacing that igniter should fix your oven problem in this situation.

You can order the igniter from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is WB13K21. Here is a direct link for that part: Igniter .

Be sure that you unplug the range and shut off the gas supply before replacing that part. The second image below shows how to replace that igniter.

This information should help you repair the range. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
