Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You did not state which part you need to replace. I added an image below with the dis-assembly instructions. NOTE: Disconnect the cook top from the power supply before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Hi, Joseph DID state the replacement part - he is referring to the cook top - as in the title. To clarify, the "glass cooktop." There are six screws around the downdraft of the unit. These six screws do not appear to be the only fasteners attaching the cooktop to the stove top. In fact, the replacement glass top appears to have three screws on either side. It appears that you need to REMOVE the entire unit from the counter in order to remove and replace the glass cooktop. Correct?

David; The cooktop will need to be removed from its installation to replace the top. I added the instructions below. Main Top Removal: 1. Disconnect power to cooktop. 2 Remove cooktop from installation position and place face down on protected surface. 3. Remove screws securing main top to burner box bottom. 4. Remove screws securing control panel box and conduit mounting plate to burner box assembly. 5. Remove main top. 6. Reverse procedure to reassemble, verifying that cooktop frame is properly aligned. NOTE: Make sure the pieces of insulation, located in the front left and right rear corners, are put back in place. Failure to do so could create excessive cabinet temperatures.

I need to replace a switch which is under the cooktop. I have read about having to remove 6 screws on the side of the unit to remove the cooktop but I am not able to see six screws in any combination of the unit. If you remove the on/off handles, it appears that you can lift the cooktop up a small amount, ( I am afraid to lift it further ). What is the best way to replace the on/off switch directly under the cooktop, or is it necessary to spend the $250.00 and 3 day wait for a repairman. Thank you for your rapid response

Evan: The cooktop will need to be pulled up enough to remove the screws securing the top to the burner box. Look under the cooktop and check to see if there are any fasteners keeping the cooktop from being lifited up and out. You will also have to disconnect the vent and the electrical connections before it can be lifted up enough to access the screws securing the top to the burner box. Remove the vent grill and there is likely some screws there too that may need to come out. I was not able to locate the service manual for this specific cooktop. The only instructions I have is below taken from a service manual that is not exactly like your model. Main Top Removal 1.
