The answer Dezeray S sent if for a gas range. I am sending you a test for the electric cooktop.

The surest test is to turn the power off to the cooktop and remove the cooktop from the cabinet.

Remove the bottom pan from the cooktop so you have access to the bottom of the right front element.

Connect the probes of a volt/ohm meter across the red and yellow wires on the element. Turn the switch on to high on the center element. You should read 230-240 volts across the red and yellow wires. If you have this voltage the element is bad and the switch is good. If you don't have this voltage the switch is bad.
