Q:

change lightbulb JE1590SH02 Ge Microwave

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. Have a great day!

I know it can be frustrating when the microwave light goes out. I see Alina provided you with some excellent safety information. The part number for the cavity light is WB36X10131 and can be purchased from Sears PartsDirect . Unfortunately, to change this cavity light requires removing the outer cover of the microwave and this exposes some very dangerous parts. A technician must complete this type of repair.

Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test MUST be performed on the unit following any repair.

It is for these safety reasons that we are unable to guide you in microwave repairs and instead recommend scheduling service with a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.

We thank you for your understanding in this matter and hope we can help you with other questions and repairs in the future. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
