A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It sounds like the igniters are dirty. I would recommend lifting up the top and cleaning in the burner box area. Making sure there is no grease on the igniters.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

What is breaker rating for JennAire JDS9860AAW?

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To determine the size of the electrical service needed, you have to look at the kilowatt rating located on the model and serial number tag. Since the model and serial number tag is missing and based on the fact the surface burners are gas and the oven is electric, a 40 amp service should work for you.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Burner on Jenn-Air gas range will not light.

A:

The range and oven would be getting a lot of use this time of year. You don't want to worrry about a bad burner or ignitor. I fouind a previous expert post that has some information regarding this issue. I also added the owner's manual. They ususally have pretty good troubleshooting guides. If you do decide you would be more comfortable having an expert diagnose and make repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the scheduler. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. I have had this problem before and the technician wound up replacing the whole unit. I just took it apart and found that one of the gas ports had a lot of rust underneath. i'm thinking of just replacing that and seeing if that fixes my problem. do you know an easy path to the parts list?

A:

I am assuming the electrode for the burner is sparking but the burner is not igniting.

Remove the burner head and soak it in soapy water for 6-8 hours. Scrub the burner head with a plastic scrub pad and clean the grooves around the burner head with a straight pin or a piece of wire. Clean the ignition ports located in the electrode area with a straight pin.

I am sending you an image showing the location of the ignition ports on the burner head.

I see you have already received some help from Barbara H. I hope this helps.
