Q:

I have found the instructions for programming the remote but I can't find the lights they refer to for Model ISD990. ISD990 Genie Garage opener

A:

Thank you for your question. The manual instructions are not always clear. Are you referring to the garage door lights or the LED light used during programming. The garage door lights are on page 25 of the manual. The LED light is located on the overhead opener. If further help is needed, please reply with additional details. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Having an appliance that is not working properly can be a hassle. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I am adding a link in where you can enter your appliance model number and the owners manual will pop up. I hope my link is useful.

Check the wires to the limit switches to make sure there are no bad spots (rubbed or skinned). If that looks good then there is a good chance that the problem is with the control board. Nothing else will really cause that to happen. I tend to think the problem is a bad spot on the board where it's shorting out.

You may want to have a technician take a look at the opener to be sure though.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
