"the cooler will not regulate temperature" Really, that's an answer? That's ridiculous. Of course it regulates temperature. It has two temperature settings, one for red wine and one for white. That's how it works. Now, that it's NOT working anymore, I would like to know how to fix it.

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your cooler model HVF042ABL; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Your cooler has a thermistor that helps cycle at correct temperatures, this electronic component messages the control board the information which should cycle the unit on and off. The freezing issue could be cause by one of these components or it could be the result of a sealed system problem.  Proper diagnoses will be required to determine the exact cause. I have attached an image below on how to test the thermistor and how to replace it should you determine it is your exact cause of freezing. I hope this helps. If you should need more help reply with added details and the serial number and I will be happy to respond.  If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services. Ron H.

HVF042ABL. My wine cooler was stuck at 81 degrees. I cleaned and rotated the ceramic disk inside the relay and it works now, or you can just buy a new relay.

Thank you for your question. Wine coolers, just like refrigerators can ruin product if the temperature is not maintained. I can understand the concern.  It does sound like this is not just that the temperature is not maintained, but that the temperature will not set other than the 71/72 degree setting.  If this is correct, then the PC board may have failed.  It is located in the top cover above the door. Remove the cover by removing the screws on the back panel, lifting upward, then forward. If the temperature will set to a new reading but the cooler is not maintaining temperature, then this could be the thermistor located on the back inner wall behind the evaporator. Check inside to see if something is pressing against the back wall and the evaporator, causing the thermistor to cool quickly and short cycle the compressor.  It may also be the electronic control board, located on the rear leg of the cabinet next to the compressor.  You did not indicate if you hear the compressor running. It may be that the compressor has failed or there may be a sealed system problem.  These checks should be made by a trained technician. You can schedule a Sears technician at Sears Home Services . If you are confident making checks, please reply back with some additional detail and note if there are any error codes.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
