Q:

Cleaning water dispenser HSS25IFMCWW Hotpoint Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your question.  Yes you can turn off the water supply it should be located under your sink. Bleach is safe as long as you rinse it well. I have provided the proper procedure.

Cover the white deposits with the soaked paper towel. Soak the paper towel in white vinegar. Leave the paper toweling on the water dispenser surfaces for an hour.

Remove the paper towel from the water dispenser surfaces. Wipe the softened white deposits and vinegar residue off the dispenser surfaces using a fresh water-dampened dishcloth or a 3m scotch bite pad found at your local grocery store.

Dry the water dispenser surfaces with clean paper towels to prevent white deposits.

Q:

Ice dispenser flap not closing HSS25IFMCWW Hotpoint Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the dispenser door. Usually when the dispenser door won't close, the problem will be with the solenoid. If you can push the door closed and if it will open again when you press the ice lever in, the solenoid  # WR62X10055 will need to be replaced. It's available at Sears PartsDirect. To access, the solenoid, the front cover will need to be removed. Use a small screwdriver to pry the lower section of the cover loose. Be sure to disconnect the power first. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services.
