Grill part number HSS25GFPJWW Hotpoint Refrigerator p series

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

You are correct; it does appear the base grille was left out of the parts list on this model. Luckily, we have researched this missing part in the past and we have identified it. The part number for the base grille is WR74X10145. If you need the mounting clips, they are part number WR02X105601.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Can i fix my own refridgerator HSS25GFPJWW Hotpoint Refrigerator p series

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com. I am sorry to hear about the refrigerator not cooling any longer, I know how frustrating that is.

Based upon the detail mentioned with the unit not cooling, and the clicking sound you here, it sounds as if the start device on the compressor has failed, and the compressor can no longer start to generate the cold air.

I would recommend unplugging the unit from power, pulling it away from the wall to gain access to the back-bottom of the unit where the compressor is. From there, do a very thorough cleaning and get rid of all the dust and debris, especially from the fan motor that cools the compressor. Once clean, plug the refrigerator back in and see if the clicking sound you hear is coming from the white square box that is attached to the compressor. If so, the start device is faulty and it will need to be replaced.

It more or less just plugs or pushes onto the compressor and is very simple to replace. I would see no issue with you performing the repair yourself.

For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you can click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page to view and purchase the part if needed.
