Q:

FREEZER NOT FREEZING HAMBURGER MEAT LIKE IT USE TO HSM25GFRFSA Hotpoint Refrigerator r series

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number HSM25GFRFSA and first, make sure the fans are running to circulate the air throughout the unit. Check your condenser to make sure it is running. The condenser should be hot to the touch. If it is not, you may have a freon leak.  If it freezes ok for awhile, after the adjustment on the thermostat is made, it would indicate the thermostat has failed and will need to be replaced. If it still won't freeze properly, it would lead to sealed system problem.

Clean your refrigerator coils. Coils that are dirty and full of debris will cause the refrigerator to overwork and may not cool properly. If the unit is running constantly and the freezer is getting cool but not cold (freezing), it would indicate the control is ok and the compressor is running. If the evaporator coil is frosted over, which would prevent air flow to the freezer and fridge sections, this will be a defrost related problem. However, if it's not frosted over, this would lead to a sealed system problem. A technician will be required to make this type of check and repair. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Hi,

Thank you for asking this question and allow me to answer it this way.

The water dispenser voltage comes from the main board. The signal for the voltage is from the door through the wiring harness connector at the bottom of the door. Sometimes the connector from the door to the cabinet gets corroded and the signal gets dropped there.

NOTE: Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts

I hope this answer is useful and that it helps you correct the problem with your appliance.
Thank you for using ManageMyLife.
