Q:

Emgine Zone Control Cable Model# HSDSP2255A SEARS/FRIGIDAIRE HSDSP2255A Ayp Frigidaire Home Products Lawn mower

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. I looked up the model number you submitted. The cable I show for this model is the one you have ordered. It is part number 130861. To be sure it is the correct cable, you can match it up with the original. The old cable will like have the part number molded into the housing. If it is the same number, it should be the correct cable. One thing I find when installing these cable is that the upper end of the cable can be installed in the wrong hole. If you install it into the wrong hole, it seems like the cable is too long. I recommend looking along the upper handle. If there is a hole further down the handle try to install the cable in that hole and check the operation.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

Q:

Walk behind lawnmower, Quantum 5.5 hp Power Pro Briggs&Straton, Frigidare deck model HSDSP2255A serial no. 050198m031393 How do I change drive V belt?

A:

Lawn mowers are great to cut down time doing the yard work. It can be a hassle sometimes changing the belt. I found information on getting the owners manual that should help you change the belt. Your expert will be able to help give you a detailed answer. It may take 24-48 hours.

A:

Remove the plastic cover on the front left side of the mower deck (covers the belt and transmission). Then tip the mower on its side and remove the blade, blade adapter, and plastic cover (covering the drive pulley). Place the belt on the drive pulley and then push it through the slot in the mower deck towards the transmission. Set the mower back on its wheels and then place the belt on the transmission pulley. You'll likely need to push the transmission pulley down (this will move the whole transmission down and back some) to put the belt onto it. Then put the covers back in place and the blade adapter and blade.

A:

Expert Wade, How does the balde adapter (blade holder) secure to motor shaft? What process is used to remove blade adaptor. Is it threaded, presssed, slip fit or --- on shaft? Does it just pull off once I take off blade bolt. Like mentioned, I removed bolt that secures blade ;however, blade adaptor will not come off motor shaft. thanks Jim

A:

The blade adapter is held in place by the blade bolt, so it should just slide off when the blade and bolt are removed. Often, it will not as the moisture from grass being cut will cause some corrosion. You'll likely need to use a puller to remove the adapter if it doesn't just slide off or come off with a little bit of hammer tapping.

You can try to get some penetrating oil onto the top of the adapter and then set the mower back upright so it can "soak" down a bit and then try to tap it off with a hammer.
