When it comes to repairing a TV it can be frustrating because we never know how much it will cost us. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to set service with a Sears technician so they can fix your TV. If you decided to get another TV you can visit Sears.com website and search for the best one. I have attached the links below. Have a great day!

The problem you are having is one of the LED's inside your TV have gone out or very dark. Most likely the red LED would need to be replaced inside the light engine. This repair would cost about $400-450. The light engine would have to be disassembled and the LED replaced and then it all put back together.

Thanks Dusty... I have been doing some research myself and had "kinda" come to that conclusion myself, but its nice to hear from someone that KNOWS what they are talking about :) I am guessing that price is on top of the service price :) Might be time to upgrade ::):)

The price would be for a complete repair including parts and labor. It might vary slightly with you local taxes, but putting that amount of money into a TV would require some thought about getting a new one.

Thanks again Dusty... The little woman and I are really giving it some thought for sure. I am an electronics guy and might even be able to replace it myself if I could figure the exact part number, but the set is 3 years old so wonder what might be next. Thanks again for all the help..
