Hi Jerry, Thank you so much. I have not received the part yet so I'm not sure what other questions I will have but this definitely helps a lot. I have already disassembled the LCD viewfinder and figured out that this flex cable was the problem with my camcorder but I haven't attempted to go any further until I get the part. Hoping I don't have to practically take the entire camera apart to get to the other end of the cable. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks, Mitch

Hello Mitch,

I'm happy to help and I hope this gets you taken care of. If you need to delve any deeper into this camcorder I suggest taking it to a repair facility, this one is very difficult and it will also require electronic an alignment to be performed after reassembly depending on the required repair. There is also a 330 Volt capacitor that needs to be discharged prior to servicing the inner parts of the camera and if not performed correctly can really hurt someone. I have included a few more diagrams that should assist you and also the instructions for discharging the capacitor, but I do not think that you will need to get to it's area but I want you to be cautious of it.

Hi Jerry, Thanks so much for the help. My video camera is working again! The repair took me about an hour and a half. The hardest part was figuring out how to fold the cable. I was afraid I was going to damage it. I didn't have time to take it somewhere as I am going on vacation in two days. Thanks again, Mitch
