Thank you for your question on the control on the range not resetting.

You could try removing the power from the range for one minute to see if the microprocessor with reset and allow you to program the clock.

If that does not work then you may want to remove power to the range and open up the control panel to see if the ribbon strip is making good contact.

I will give you instructions and pictures below to do this.

Once you get the control down you can carefully unlock the ribbon strip and remove the ribbon and put it back into the connector to see if that was the problem.

If this does not help you may need to replace either the touch pad or the control. Sometimes it is hard to tell where the problem is, but if the rest of the functions work on the touch pad to program the oven then I would say it is a bad touch pad.

Make sure you have not locked the control with the start pad. Hold for 5 seconds to lock or unlock the control.

Please let me know what you find out.

Q:

Why won't the touch panel work on my Whirlpool range?

A:

I recommend that you unplug the range and carefully check the ribbon wire connector between the membrane keypad and the electronic control board (circuit board). A loose or unplugged ribbon connector could be causing this problem. If the ribbon wire connector is plugged in properly then you will likely need to replace the keypad console to fix this range problem.

Q:

What is the part number for the replacement control board for my Whirlpool gold range?

A:

I recommend checking the touchpad before replacing the EOC, electronic oven control. The start button is part of the touchpad not the EOC. You can put the control into a test mode & recall the stored error codes.

A stuck key pad should have produced an error code F2 E0.

Please see the image provided for the keypad test information. You will need a volt/ohm meter to check the resistance of the keypads.
