Question and Answers

Q:

whirlpool GW395LEPS00 oven overheating GW395LEPS00 Whirlpool Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you.

Follow the procedure shown in this repair video to check the resistance of that sensor: Oven Sensor Testing . Your sensor should measure around 1080 ohms at room temperature (70 degrees F). If that resistance is off by more than 10% then you will need to replace that oven temperature sensor probe (part W10131825).

Following the instructions in the video provided, it appears the sensor is working properly (about 1050 ohms) . What are other potential causes of the oven overheating?

Q:

GW395LEPS00 oven and broiler igniter won't spark GW395LEPS00 Whirlpool Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your range is not working.

You will need to check the igniter themselves, spark module, and spark electrode.

Replace the oven igniter if doesn't glow, or if it glows but doesn't get hot enough to open the gas valve. Some ovens have a separate igniter for the bake burner and the broiler burner, which operate on the same principle.

You will need a service technician to diagnose your unit. This sounds like a wiring issue.

Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com regarding the PF error code on your Whirlpool gas range. I'm happy to help you today.

The PF error code is a Power Failure. This indicates there is a distribution between the power and the control board. I recommend checking the circuit breakers to your house first. You will need to turn them off and wait for about 10 minutes, then turn them back on. If you are still getting the error code, then replace the control board (p/n 9760013). Parts can be purchased from Sears PartsDirect.

If you do not feel comfortable repairing this issue yourself, service can be scheduled at Sears Home Services.

I really hope this information helps you today. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I ordered new control board and I am still just getting PF and time showing on panel, still buttons do not work. Are you sure it isn't the control panel (p/n w10122295) that I should be replacing???

A:

Hello Kimberly. If replacing the control board did not fix the problem, then the control panel would need to be replaced. The part number of the panel will vary based on the color of your range. White- W10122291 Biscuit- W10122292 Black- W10122294 Stainless Steel- W10122295 I hope this helps. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

I have the same problem, replace the control panel W10122295 fixed the "PF" code problem. I didn't order from Sears but the control panel I received, the cord that connects to the control board is now at the bottom, probably to address the heat issue that caused the cord to malfunction. Pretty easy to install.
