Question and Answers

Q:

water leaking from bottom corner of door on whirlpool dishwasher. GU 980 SCGS3.

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your dishwasher and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number GU980SCGS3 and from your description I recommend checking the deflectors, item 12. If this are damaged or misshaped they will allow water to leak out of the cabinet. This part is located in the lower front corners of the dishwashers tub. They keep the water away from the corners of the dishwasher, eliminating the rush of water behind the door. I have included a link to our Parts Direct page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

How do I remove the impeller part 3378176 on my Whirlpool dishwasher?

A:

I assume that you already have the breaker shut off to disconnect electrical power. You will need to pull out the racks and remove the bottom spray arm assembly. The image below shows the procedure for removing the impeller.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
