I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. To access and replace inlet valve:

  1. Remove or disconnect power to the dishwasher.
  2. Turn the water supply off under sink or main.
  3. Remove the 4 screws securing the toe panel.
  4. Remove toe panel.
  5. Disconnect the water supply line from the inlet valve.
  6. Disconnect the wire harness plug from the inlet valve.
  7. Remove the screw securing the valve to the frame
  8. Purge the water supply line before connecting it back to new inlet valve.
  9. Reverse the procedure to reassemble and test operation.

If the inlet valve is leaking then, replace it. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

What is wrong and what should I do if my Whirlpool model GU2455XTSQ1 dishwasher will fill and drain but in wash only hums?

A:

For this problem the first thing to try if you don't mind a little do-it-yourself is to access the sump and check for any type of obstructions (wire ties/bones) that might be jamming the circulation motor.

The image below will help with this. Remember to turn the power to the dishwasher off first.

If you are hearing a hum then most likely the motor is getting voltage. It may be blocked or just in need of replacement. There are two options to consider. Replacing just the circulation motor is the less expensive option but will repair more labor and time to replace. You can also consider replacing the entire sump assembly which is much simpler and quicker but more expensive. The information in the images shows how to do both which may help you decide.

I hope this information is helpful to you but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.
