Q:

Kenmore elite dishwasher buzzing on wash, not fill or drain. 66513763k602 66513763k602

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Dishwasher, Model: 665.13763K602. From reviewing the details on your model, The first thing I recommend is opening the sump assembly and making sure something has not gotten down in the wash assembly. I have provided a link to a couple of videos on similar model of dishwasher, which should be able to assist you on the cleaning of the sump.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dishwasher to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

Thanks Gerry. However, that didn't really address what was asked. The user indicated they replaced the chopper assembly, which means they already opened and cleaned out the sump. I am having the exact same problem with my gu2300xtvq1 Whirlpool - which is the same as the Kenmore elite line. Buzzes during wash cycle only, even after I cleaned out the sump.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There should not be any suds in the bottom unless too much was used or it has not been draining properly. It may not be getting enough water too.

If pressing the Cancel/Drain button does not start the dishwasher for a drain cycle, it could have one of many possible failures. This model has separate drain pump motor from the wash motor. If neither motor (wash or drain) will not operate but you have a display or indicator lights on, it could have a control board failure.

Based on your symptom and details, I strongly suggest calling a service technician or consider replacing the dishwasher. Depending on the part failure, it could cost as much $100.00 just for the control board if it was found faulty. In order to diagnose the failure will require making some voltage measurement under the dishwasher as well as behind the control panel.

I highly recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher. You will not likely be able to find one with all the bells and whistles like the one you have for $400.00

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.
