Question and Answers

Q:

Whirlpool Dishwasher Model No. GU1500XTLQ3 How do I remove and then install the water inlet valve (Part No. 8531325) and the gasket (Part No. 8531323)?

A:

It looks like you have completed the diagnosis and have the parts. While you wait for the expert answer, you may find it helpful to check the owner's manual for information. If down the road you would feel more comfortable having an experienced technician do the repair , another option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the handy scheduler. I attached the links below. Hope this helps!

The images below should help you with this project.

You will most likely have to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet to get access the water inlet. I would expect there to be enough slack to allow this without disconnecting the water line and drain line.

I suggest turning the power to the dishwasher off first.

I hope this helps you complete this project.

Thank-you for your expert advice on the inlet valve. We have successfully replaced it, with only a few drops of water coming from it now. However, the bottom dish rack seems to rub against the inside filter of the water inlet valve and is difficult to push the rack in. Does the filter thing have to line up with the dishrack??? Also, it is not doing a good job cleaning the dishes. Maybe more issues to address? Thanks, Michelle
