Question and Answers

Q:

will not wash dishes GU1500XTKB0 Whirlpool Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model GU1500XTKB0; here are some issues to check that may resolve your dishwasher problem:

Check the spray arms for cracks or splits. Check the holes in the spray arms for deposits that could be inhibiting spray. Make sure that dishes are stacked in the dishwasher properly so that spray arms and spray patterns are not blocked.

Check the water fill level in the dishwasher. Start a cycle and then crack the dishwasher door open as soon as the filling stops and before the spray starts. Open the door fully and check the water level. The water should be within 1/4 inch to just touching the heating element in the bottom of the tub. If the dishwasher is not filling properly, you may need to shut off the breaker and the water supply and then check the fill line. Use only fresh dishwasher detergent in your unit. Powdered detergent does have a shelf life. It will get clumpy and ineffective if it is stored in a damp environment such as under the sink. Try using new detergent if the old powder is clumpy and cakes together easily.

A clog or restriction in the sump of the dishwasher can lead to poor washing results. These tips should help you resolve the washing problem in your dishwasher.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Q:

Overflow on sink leaks intermittently onto counters and floor GU1500XTKB0 Whirlpool Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model GU1500XTKB0; you can clean the air gap using a long brush to remove any debris that may be causing the overflow to leak.  You can also check the discharge hose on for clogs. Normally water leaking out of the over flow is due to a clog between the air gap or the garbage disposal.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

Q:

Dishwasher will not start

A:

Thank you for submitting your question, I do understand your concern. I will be glad to assist you today. What I do recommend doing first is checking the power supply to your outlet where the dishwasher is plugged into. Use a small lamp or appliance like a hair dryer and see if it would turn on. If it does not turn on, check the breaker box the outlet may have been tripped. If it is getting power you will then need to test the control broad and wiring harness. This will require a live voltage test with a meter. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing If you do not feel confident in doing this I do recommend going to: Sears Home Services. Hope this helps, if you need further assistance please reply to the thread below. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.com.

Is there a diagnostic mode I can put this dishwasher into to see if there is a stuck button or is the control board bad.

A:

Thank you for replying back Rick. Definitely sounds like a stuck key or a problem with the main control broad. I do recommend testing the control broad. I have provided a image below with the sequence on doing the key test with a ohm's meter. If the key pad test good, the issue will be with the main control and will need replacing. I do hope this is helpful, Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.com.
