Just about all defrost timers work the same way with the same voltage.

Each timer does have different programming for the amount of time in defrost and the amount of time between defrost.

Even a defrost timer that is wired the same might have different times. If the times are shorter or longer then there will likely be a problem. To short of time would lead to a slow ice build up restricting the air flow. If the time is to long then food might start to defrost.

Bottom line is that you should look up the timer for your particular refrigerator and use it.
