Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the refrigerator. This could be a problem with the main board the thermistor or the compressor could be overheating and shutting down on overload. Make sure the condenser fan next to the compressor is running and the condenser coils are not clogged up. If these checks are ok, the most likely problem will be with the main board. The thermistors are very dependable and rarely fail. Before replacing the board # WR55X10942, I would recommend having a technician check this. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

since unpluggint it and plugging it back in wasn't working, i decided to mess around with the wires connected to the board; making sure they were not loose and the condensor turned on. it ran for a while then stopped the next morning. i took the board out to inspect and wasn't sure if it had shorted. i reinstalled it and it worked (condensor turned on and off when needed) for the next 12 hours. i'm not with it now, but i will find out if it is still operating correctly. before reading your post, i was leaning toward a bad board myself. thanks for your reply.
