Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. The icemaker is basically a stand alone system. It works off of the temperature inside the freezer. If the temperature gets above 5 degrees it will make ice very slow and if it gets above 12 degrees, it probably won't make any ice. If the temperature is below 5 degrees and the production is still very slow, it would indicate the sensor inside the icemaker is not working properly and the icemaker # WR30X10093 would need to be replaced. To check the temperature, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is not a good check. I hope this will help you.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice maker. However, without a model number I'm unable to provide you with model or part specific information. Generally, as long as the temperature in the freezer is correct the ice maker should cycle automatically about every hour. I suspect that the cycling thermostat has failed or is defective. This may require replacing the complete icemaker. Electrical diagnosis of the ice maker and related components will require using a volt/ohm meter for testing. You could also be having an issue with the water valve or water line. For further assistance, please respond to this thread with the complete model number.

GE;model GTS21KCXAWW; Seerial LS131905. Ice maker was not eject the ice cubes. removed ice maker and flushed ice cubes. reconnected the unit and it now makes ice, but very, very slowly. I was wondering if the ice maker is a unit onto itself or is there a separate control board for it?
