Q:

whirlpool washer #GSW9800PW2 will not start when the lid is lowered most of the time and will sometimes stop at the spin cycle. Is this the lid switch? GSW9800PW2 Whirlpool Residential washer

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, it sounds like the lid switch is not always closing or staying closed. The lid switch is located under the control panel on the left side. When the lid is lowered, the left lid hinge must strike the switch actuator to close the lid switch.

To access the lid switch, the control panel will need to be placed in the service position. On the back side of the control panel is screw to remove at each control panel end cap. Remove the two screws and then slide the control panel towards the front of the washer about 1/4 inch and then lift the control panel up and rotate it over the rear panel.

You may need to bend the hinge arm slightly to insure the lid switch closes each time the lid is shut. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

does part #336003 include the cam GSW9800PW2 Whirlpool Residential washer

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

In order to answer your question, I need more details in regards to what this gasket goes to and what we are discussing. Are you referring the the cam in the agitator or the gearcase? It appears based upon the part number 336003, it doesn't even appear to go to your specific model number.

Can you respond back with more details on the precise gasket and cam you are referring to? I will be more than happy to help once I get clarification. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
