Question and Answers

Q:

Why is the motor not running on my Whirlpool washer?

A:

What you’re describing sounds like a bad timer. If the timer tries to send 120 volts to two windings at the same time, the motor will not start. If you have 120 volts on Or & BU at the motor at the same time, then the timer is bad. Be sure that you check the power supply to the washer while under a load. If the voltage drops below 110 volts, I recommend having the power supply checked. Only the correct rated capacitor should be used.
