Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your refrigerator making noises. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, I suspect the noise is coming from a fan. The fan blade may be hitting a shroud or a piece of ice. The key factor is the location of the noise. Is the noise coming from inside the refrigerator or the back? If the noise is from the back of the refrigerator, there may be dust build up causing the fan to be noisy. Just remove the cover in the back of the refrigerator and clean the coils & fan motor. However, if everything is clean and the noise is from the back of the refrigerator, call for service. I suspect the fan motor is bad and that is covered by the warranty. Now, if the noise is from inside the refrigerator, the fan motor may be bad or the defrost system is not working properly. That is something service needs to fix while the refrigerator is still under warranty. I hope this helps.

If you do not feel comfortable repairing this problem yourself or if it is under warranty, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears Technician. You may visit SearsHomeServices.com and follow the instructions, then click on the red next now button.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern about the water tube leaking. Depending where the leak is, the simplest fix will be to cut out the section of tube that's cracked and then splice the tube back together. If this is the larger tube (5/16") use fitting # 2300868 and if it's the smaller tube (1/4") use fitting # W10277958. These fittings are available at SearsPartsDirect . Most any local hardware store will also have these types of fittings. I'm also attaching a picture with instructions for how these fittings work. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further. Any additional details will also be helpful.

Thank you Scott. That does help me a lot. I was able to disconnect the other water tube used fo the ice make with ease. unfortunately I think the damage has already been done. In my attempt to disconnect the water tube from the inlet valve at the base of the refrigerator as well as the fitting inside the refrigerator where the water filter is connected, I subsuquently broke the plastic collet/push down tab. can these be replaced or do I need to buy an all new inlet valve as well as water filter device?

Brian, if the collet/tab has been damaged, it cannot be repaired. The valve # W10238100 and filter housing # W10238123 will need to be replaced.
