Question and Answers

Q:

Ice is not dispensing GSS25UFMDWW

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your ice is not dispensing in in your refrigerator.

It sounds to me like the motor in the ice bin is not working.
WR60X10258 is the replacement part number.

I have attached instructions to test the auger in your refrigerator.

Q:

Is this a defrost problem?

A:

If the element comes on when the board is jumped, it means that either this board is defective or the defrost sensor is not working. Since the board was just replaced, I suspect the sensor is not working properly. The sensor can be checked at the board. Disconnect the connector on the J1 connector. Now check the resistance between the pin 4 brown wire and pin 5 bl/wh wires. The resistance will vary according to the temperature, so you will need to know what the temperature is next to the evaporator. The resistance should read as follows:

  • 5 degrees F = 36.4 k ohms
  • 32 degrees F = 16.3 k ohms
  • 50 degrees F = 10 k ohms
  • 77 degrees F = 5 k ohms
Most of the time when the water dispenser quits, it's due to the water line freezing in the door. There is a heater kit # WR49X10173 to help keep the water line from freezing inside the door. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . A technician may be needed to install this kit. If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.
