Question and Answers

Q:

Has the GE ice dispenser part #WR17X11447 been updated, so drive cup part #WR17X11459 will not break?

A:

There have been no problems with the drive cup breaking, so there is no update on the auger assembly. The ice should not be melting and freezing to the auger. If this is happening, it can cause the drive cup to break. If you notice that the ice is melting, it will need to be determined why it's happening. It may be staying in defrost to long, the compressor could be short cycling at times or one of the fans may be quitting. It could also be due to a small load (food) in the freezer. A small load can cause it to get, too hot in the defrost cycle. If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.
