Q:

Icemaker does not work GSS25JEPABB Ge Refrigerator p series

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your ice maker is not working. I did look into the model number you have provided, and I have found information to assist you.

How to remove ice maker:

Turn the icemaker switch to the OFF position.
Remove the icemaker bucket and cover.
Unplug the icemaker connector.
Remove 2 screws, then remove the icemaker

When the ice maker is removed I recommend checking the icemaker water lines to make sure there are no holes in them.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, this model does not have a manual defrost procedure. However, the heating element can be checked, to determine if it's ok. A good check is to disconnect the unit and remove the back cover to the main control board. Now locate the blue wire on the J-9 connection and the brown wire on the J-11 connection. Disconnect these wires and connect them together and make sure they do not touch anything. Now reconnect the power and if the element heats, it's ok. If the unit is not defrosting, this would indicate the control board or the sensor has failed. The most likely problem would be with the board. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
