Question and Answers

Where is the water filter? GSS20IEMDWW Ge Refrigerator m series

Thank you for contacting with your question about your GE refrigerator. I am so sorry the water and ice cubes taste terrible. A water filter will definitely solve the problem and I will be happy to help you with this.

Your particular refrigerator did not come with the water filter hook up installed. There is a cover plug where the filter would normally be. Therefore, there isn't a filter to replace on your model. To resolve the problem of not having a filter, You can add an inline filter to the water line that delivers water from the faucet to the back of the refrigerator. I have included a blue link for you to order the part.

The inline filter is easy to install and comes with instructions. This will filter the water before it reaches the refrigerator and should resolve the issue you are having with the taste of the water. The filters normally last about six months and are easy to replace.

I hope this answers your questions. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
