Question and Answers

Q:

Water appears to not be turning off and continuously runs GSD500D-03AW Ge Ge dishwashers

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

What I would do to pin point the issue would be to shut the water supply off after the wash cycle starts. If it doesn’t leak then the inlet valve would need to be replaced. But if it still happens then something isn’t sealing properly, and would need to be looked at to determine what the issue is.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Q:

water does not drain at end of cycle GSD500D-03AW Ge Ge dishwashers

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct.com. I will be happy to assist you with your washer. Upon researching model GSD500D-03AW, I show there is a drain pump that pumps the water out at the end. Check to make sure the drain pump or hose is not clogged or kinked. Also check the pump to make sure the electrical plug is still connected. If all is ok then it could be the pump motor is burned up and the pump would have to be replaced.

If you have any further questions please re-post question. Thank you for choosing Sears we appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The most likely failure is a broken plastic post on the control panel. There is a spring that connects to the plastic post and detergent cup latch arm to keep tension on the latch arm. If you will remove the control panel and look, you will see spot where the plastic post broke off at. It will be close to piece of molded plastic and you can drill or burnt a small hose through the side of plastic divider and rehook the spring there. I used to heat up the tip of a metal paper clip and melt a small hole through the plastic and reconnect the spring and it will work. Otherwise, you have to replace the control panel.

I added an image below and I circled the post that has likely snapped off. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the dishwasher before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
