A:

Definitely having to do repairs yourself can be a challenge to help in determining if you have the right part I would suggest visiting Sears parts direct.com where you can view a diagram of all parts still available for your Refrigerator. I have attached a link below. Hope it helps!

There is a contact in the ice maker assembly (part D7824706Q) that sends voltage to the water valve to refill the ice maker during the harvest cycle. If the ice maker is going into a harvest but is not sending voltage to the water valve during that harvest cycle then you will need to replace that ice maker assembly. If the ice maker assembly is sending voltage to the valve but the valve is not opening, then you will need to replace that inlet water valve assembly (part 12001414). There is a possibility that the water supply line between the valve and the ice maker is clogged or frozen. I recommend that you check that water supply line before checking the other components. If the water supply line is clear, then you should be able to use the technical information provided below to check the ice maker and water valve (and wiring between components). Be sure that you follow electrical safety guidelines when using this technical data. Unplug the refrigerator before accessing internal components. Some of the tests provided in the image below require you to use an insulated jumper wire and to have the refrigerator plugged in with internal components exposed. If you conduct those tests, be sure that you unplug the refrigerator as soon as the live test is completed. Do not make contact with live wires or connections when the refrigerator is unplugged with those components exposed. If you are not completely confident in your technical ability to safely conduct those tests, then I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this ice maker failure.
