Q:

General Electric GNSF23Z01 Fails to draw brine out of tank. If disconnect brine tube, water squirts out of the venturi unit. Replaced all parts in venturi area

A:

I emailed you an image that has technical information that should help you resolve this problem. (The image feature for this ANSWER section is not working at this time.) Use the information that I sent to make sure that you have the venturi reassembled properly. Clean the brine valve assembly as shown in the troubleshooting section. Use the diagnostics function to advance the valve and make sure that it is operating properly. This should help you determine the cause of your problem. If you need to replace parts, you can order them from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The images you sent were ones that I already had. But I just went back and could not find them. I have taken apart the venturi unit several times and this last time I saw that the 3gpm venturi was tipped a little bit. It looks like the cone screen stands a little proud so I mashed down hard with my finger on the venturi plug and got it to sit even with the gasket housing. This time it drew some brine. Will watch to see if it works on the next few cycles. The main purpose of my question here is if there is anything else besides the components of this venturi unit that affects brine draw.
