Question and Answers

Q:

My washer machine is not filling. GLWN5050M0WS Ge Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your washer is not working properly.

WH13X10037 is the water valve you should be checking. The water valve opens and closes when the unit calls for water. If it is not opening then it is broken.

Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. Q:

GE High Efficiency TL washer do not start wash cycle GLWN5050M0WS Ge Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model

GLWN5050M0WS

; the best place to start would be looking at the belt to make sure it didn’t slip off. The motor has a built in board that could have been damaged or the control board could have been damaged. With the amount of electronics in this unit it would be best to have a tech diagnose the unit.

Occasionally diagnosing these issues can be difficult. It is best to have a Sears’s tech diagnose the issue.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

My washer will not switch from the wash to the rinse cycle & I have replaced the main control board, what else could the problem be? GLWN5050M0WS

A:

I have also bypassed the lid switch, checked to make sure the drain was not kinked and is at the correct height. I have cleaned out the pump and drain hoses.

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model GLWN5050M0WS; it could be a damaged wire or plug coming from the board. There are multiple electrical parts that work together if one is not functioning properly it could cause the unit to have issues. It would be best to have a tech go out and diagnose the unit as it can be difficult to properly diagnose these units.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

Hi David, We actually just purchased a new control board from parts direct last week, thinking that was the problem. And when we put the new one in, it is doing the same thing. I don't really have the budget to have a pro come in, which is why we are diagnosing it ourselves. We purchased the control board from sears parts direct, so that would tell me I was sent defective part. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Val

I've this washer for last 2.5 years. Last week we moved to new apartment and hooked up surprisingly not starting wash cycle. But it does fill water at start. I left like for quite sometime it drains water as well. But it doesn't wash/rinse that means, no basket or agitator rotation. We felt like something went wrong during move. We laid down washer in SUV cargo keeping control panel on back door side. Now little bit nervous what went wrong, called several techs they are asking $65 to $85 to diagnose. Not sure how much it would cost to repair. Can someone help real issue on this? we live in Mission, KS.

Something might have went wrong during move.I laid down washer in my SUV cargo space keeping control panel on back side of door, travelling 10 miles to new apartment. Can someone help me real issue?
