Barbara H. provided a link for a thread on the AppliancePartsPros.com website in the first response above. The Senior Expert on that website provided the tech sheet for the washer and recommended the diagnostic test be performed on the washer. I recommend a similar approach. The washer will normally signal an error code when it will not spin properly or drain the water out. I provided the pages of the tech sheet in the images below. I recommend that you use the procedure shown below to recall the last error code recorded by the washer. This may point you in the direction of your failure. If not, you can perform the diagnostic test as shown to test the components of the washer. These tips should help you determine the cause of your failure.

Once you determine the error code or the cause you your failure, you may need to replace a component to fix the washer. You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you need help with access or additional testing, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

NOTE: The information below is intended for technicians. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using this data. Unplug the washer before accessing internal components. I do not recommend that you conduct any live voltage checks on the washer yourself. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why won't my Frigidaire washer model GLTF2940EE0 spin properly?

A:

Several different problems could prevent this washer from spinning properly. Overloading the washer can cause this problem. Washing a load that is too small can also prevent the washer from spinning properly. A clogged or kinked drain line could cause this problem. Check your drain hose for kinks or clogs. Make sure that the drain system is properly installed.

A clogged pump filter could also cause this type of problem. This pump filter is shown as Key 40 in the image below. To access and check this filter, unplug the washer and remove the bottom front service panel. Two screws at the very bottom of this panel secure it to the washer frame. Remove these two screws and then pull the panel slightly out and down to release the clips that secure it to the front panel. You will need to arrange towels and possibly a container to catch water that may flow from the washer tub when you remove the clamp (Key 42) that holds the coin trap (Key 41) on the bottom of the washer tub. Release the clamp and remove filter from the coin trap. Clear any debris and reassemble the washer. NOTE: If you are not completely confident in your technical ability to safely execute this procedure, then I recommend calling a service technician to check this filter.

Observe the washer when it goes into the spin mode. This model will usually signal an error code if a problem is detected by the control board.

A problem with the motor control board or a drive system problem could also prevent the washer from spinning properly. If the above tips don't help, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this problem in your washer.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
