Q:

need to replace the front bellow tub seal GLTF1670AS0 Frigidaire Washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when needing a front tub seal for the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Frigidaire Washer model number GLTF1670AS0.

How to replace the bellows:

1.  Unplug your Frigidaire washing machine from the wall outlet. Turn the hot and cold water supply valves to the “Off” position. Disconnect the supply hoses from the rear of the Frigidaire washing machine.  (Best to have a bucket to place hoses into because there will be water still in them to drain.

2.  Open the door to your washer  to access the bellow surrounding the opening to the washer. Touch around the edge of the rubber bellow to locate the spring attached to the bellow clamp wire ring. Grasp the wire ring with needle-nose pliers right next to the spring. Pull the bellow clamp from beneath the bellow, releasing the front of the bellow gasket from the machine.

3.  Peel the bellow off the lip of the opening in your washer. Pull the light from the opening in the top of the bellow. Squeeze together the two ends of the clamp holding the door glass rinse tube to the top of the bellow with pliers. Jiggle the clamp back onto the tube and off the bellow. Pull the tube from the opening.

4.  Remove the two screws that are holding the door switch assembly to the front panel of your washer. Push back the bellow to pull the assembly from the washer. Pull the two wire harnesses from the assembly and set the assembly aside.

5.  Pull the washing machine from the wall, so that you can access the rear of the washer. Remove the four screws from the top lip on the back of the washer to release the top panel.  Then slide the panel toward the rear of the machine, and then lift the panel off the machine.

6.  Remove the laundry detergent dispenser from the front area of the machine. There is a tab lock on the top rear of the dispenser, press downward on the tab with your fingers to release the dispenser from the machine. Remove the screws from the front of the dispenser opening once you have removed the dispenser.

7.  Find the two screws on each end of the control panel, holding the control panel to the top of the washer cabinet. Take out  these screws. Unsnap the four tabs holding the Affinity control panel to the top of the machine. Lay the panel across the top of the machine. Do not disconnect the wires attaching the control panel to the machine.

8.  Unscrew the four screws along the bottom of the front panel. Unscrew the four screws from the top of the front panel. Set the front panel aside.

9.  Pull the old bellow from the opening in the washer along with the second spring clamp holding the bellow to the machine.

10.  Be good to spread liquid dishwashing detergent in the groove in the rear of the replacement bellow. Use your finger to ensure the detergent is distributed equally.

11.  Match the arrow on the top of the bellow with the arrow that is on the lip of the washtub. Make sure the openings in the bellow for the door glass rinse tube and the light are located at the top of the bellow. Push the groove in the rear of the bellow over the lip of the washtub, working around the entire tub opening.

12.  Fit the rear spring clamp back over the bellow. Push it into the small groove on the front of the bellow where is sits against the washtub. As you install the spring clamp, insert the spacers provided with the replacement bellow to hold the clamp in place.

13.  Install the front panel onto the washer and then secure it with the screws you previously removed. Insert the light and the door glass rinse tubes into the bellow. Connect the door switch assembly wires and then secure the assembly to the front panel.

14.  Push the front of the bellow around the opening in the front panel. Install the spring clamp around the bellow to hold it in place. Complete the assembly of the Affinity washer by reversing the disassembly steps.

Vibration shock worn out? GLTF1670AS0 Frigidaire Washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Frigidaire model number gltf1670as0.

Good questions.   When you replace one sock you have to do both so they sell them in a pair.   Just like you would your car to change one do both sides.  As for the pin you need to take a look at.  Normally people don't have to replace the pins, but look at them so you can do it all right the first time.

What does the bearing do? When I slowly turn the basket, it sounds like something hits the basket at one point ("rings" the basket) and at one other point it sounds like the basket rubs against rubber. I hope that description helps!

Hi,
Thank you for this opportunity to answer your question today.

Sorry, the basket will have to come out the rear. The front panel will not come off. The top panel and the console will come off, along with the spring that holds the boot to the front panel. The back panel will also be removed. Then the outer tub can be removed and separated to remove the basket. In other words, this is a complete teardown and rebuild.

I hope you find this information helpful, If you need any other information, reply to the link below.
Thank you for using Manage my Life.
