Question and Answers

Q:

why sre the Ice actuator and water actuator not working after I replaced the dispenser cover? GLRS264ZAQ1

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number GLRS264ZAQ1 and from what you are describing it seems like the buttons maybe active when they should not. When replacing the dispenser cover you need to make sure that the carrier (number 36 in the diagram and 38c are not mashed up against each or making contact when there should not. If you notice number 36 has rubber fingers that are depressed when a button is pressed on the display. The rubber fingers also work with the board that has button the carrier make contact with. I recommend removing the cover and make sure everything is in it place and nothing is kinked or pinched. Here is a link for the diagram. If you have further questions please let me know.

I removed the cover checked everything out and reinstalled it, but the issue still hapenning. I also held the board with my hand and reconnected the wire connector coming from the other board without the cover or the carrier and the problem still continues, crush light and filter light on the panel are always on, water and ice actuator won't work, ice crusher won't stop rotating.

If everything seems to be in its proper place you still may have a bad board. 38C is the control board and 38 is the power board. It is possible an static discharge from one self could have damaged the board(s).
