Question and Answers

Q:

Top of dryer gets hot. gleq2152-es1

A:

Thank you for contacting Sears. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Dryer.

I can understand the frustration of your dryer not functioning properly, after researching model number GLEQ2152-ES1. The most common thing to cause this issue is excessive lint build up in the unit. I would suggest to deep cleaning the unit. Make sure there isn’t any lint trapped on the inside and clean out the exhaust vent. The lint causes the dryer to over work and heat up. The other part to cause this issue is the hi limit cut off fuse. If this fuse is bad the dryer will continue to get hot. I would suggest starting with the lint and see if that fixes the issue.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful. Q:

dryer drum makes rubbing noise GLEQ2152ES1 Frigidaire Dryer

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Frigidaire Dryer, Model: GLEQ2152ES1. From reviewing the details on your model, the rollers can be making the noise or even the idler pulley can be squealing and making noise. This will be difficult because once the top and the front are removed you can't run the dryer and check where the noise is coming from. First I recommend raising the dryer top by removing the lint filter and removing the two screws located there. With a putty knife you can release the two clips located about 2 inches in from the front corners. Remember to unplug the power first. With the top up you can run the dryer and see if the location of the noise is more apparent. You can also visually check the felt seal along the back of the drum. With the top up you can remove the front panel by removing the two bolts on the top corners holing the top of the front panel to the cabinet. With the bolts removed you can pull the front panel out and up off the two lower clips. With the front panel removed you can access and change the felt seal, drum rollers and idler pulley depending on where you think the noise is originating from. I have also included a link to a couple of videos on similar model of dryers, which should be able to troubleshoot what could be causing the dryer to squeak.

Q:

How to Re-balance the dryer drum GLEQ2152ES1 Frigidaire Dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to balance the dryer drum. I did look into the model number you have provided, and I do apologize I am not seeing any information stating how to balance the drum.

Usually you will need to re-level the unit by the leveling feet when the drum is out of place.

The parts balancing the dryer drum is the drum rollers. If those are bad then they will need to be replaced. I recommend taking your unit apart and inspecting the drum rollers.

You can also visit searpartsdirect.com for parts, diagrams, and repair information.
