Oven Operation GLEF378CBB Frigidaire Electric range

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the range.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number glef378cbb.
Usually when you hear that "pop" sound then you need to test your bake element at the bottom of the oven.   Sounds like  your element blew and I have below on the link the bake element and the way to test it.
 Instructions on testing your elements:

1.  Unplug your range-disconnect the power.  Drop the door down gently.  Check one at a time and unscrew the bake element at the bottom first.

2.  Sometimes you can just look at the element so inspect it for things like signs of wear, charring, blistering, or breaks then you automatically know to change it.

3.   When you take the elements out then you can also verify if they are connected well from the wires to the elements.  If loose wire then maybe all it needs to do is be reconnected.

4.  Once out test the elements with a multimeter and you can find out its continuity.  Set  your meter to the lowest setting of homs, then calibrate the meter following its instructions.  Touch one terminal on the element with one of the probes and touch the other element end with the other probe.  Look at the meter's display to determine if it has and how much ratings.  The reading should read anywhere from 0 to 50 ohms of resistance if it is good.  If not then you know to replace it.
If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears

My oven will not heat everything else works fine GLEF378CBB Frigidaire Electric range

Thanks for the inquiry and for using

I am sorry to hear about the oven cavity not heating, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.

Typically in this case where the oven doesn't work but the surface units do and everything else is normal, the electronic control board's relay to the oven cavity is no longer working and has a communication error. In this situation, a replacement electronic control board would be required to fix the issue.

I would recommend having a technician come and help assist with the diagnosis/repair for this issue. The boards are pretty costly items to take a chance on, and a proper diagnosis will save you money on unecessary and ensure the installation is done properly. The electronic boards are very sensitive and can be damage easily upon installation.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

If by chance the electronic board is needed, I have provided a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect site to view and purchase the board.
